PETAL: 1.6 Cost

Storage must be purchased in multiples of 2.5TBs at approximately 254 circa 100 for one copy of 1TB of data. The cost for storing two copies will be double the figure - so the normal price for safe storage of data is 200 per TB. Data is also compressed as it's written to tape. Tape prices are subject to reviews from the Financial Office.

Users cannot use tapes they have purchased themselves all tapes must be purchased via the PETAL SRF system.
