Web Service Plan

Database and Web Application Programming

Back to WebServicePlan

The Website service will include database and web application programming technologies as required, using expert knowledge held by the team.

We aim to link our websites to central UoL content where appropriate. This promotes systems reuse and the “One version of the truth” principle. A particular example is the publications list feed from the UoL Symplectic system, which is embedded in school staff personal pages. School Undergraduate and Masters course page content is now drawn from the central Online Course Information (OCI) feed, which also drives the corporate website pages, ensuring consistency.

Programming languages include PHP/MYSQL, Javascript and jQuery.

We will provide services for data hosting, which meet requirements of Research project websites which have data sharing criteria, e.g. those requiring data to be available to the public. An example of this could be providing data resources accessible via Document Object Identifier (DOI) link, in association with a Resolution Service Provider (expected to be UoL central services).
