As detailed before - in the cache and tape backup sections - the Spectra Verde fileserver will always have an updated copy of the files that are present in the cache or in the tape currently written for each volume set. Those can be easily accessed and copied to any other location, including a new volume set created to replace a faulty one in the library. In this case only the lost files are to be copied back in the library while the QStar software will take care of recreating the cache and writing the files on a new tape.
