Faculty of Environment

Graduate School

Reaching out to all prospective and current postgraduate students

Currently the Faculty of Environment has more than 300 PhD and 300 Masters students studying across its three schools, stirring up academic debate, publishing important new findings, and working with industry on projects, placements and as part of large-scale collaborative research partnerships.

Whilst the majority of subject-specific support and training for postgraduate students is provided within individual departments, the Graduate School has an important role to play in areas that transcend subject boundaries, such as generic skills training or where provision of a larger critical mass is beneficial.

  • Co-ordinating the provision of Research Development Training for all postgraduates
  • Encouraging interaction between PhD students across our Schools/Departments
  • Administering a selection of University Research Scholarships
  • Promoting best practice in the support and monitoring of postgraduate students

If you are currently looking for a PhD opportunity in an environmental topic then we would welcome an application from you. Please visit the individual department web sites for project opportunities and application details.
