Connecting from Linux

To connect to a windows terminal server from a Linux system, use the rdesktop command:

  • rdesktop -d DS -f foe-sterm

The '-f' means the remote service uses fullscreen mode - to toggle back to Linux, you type 'CTRL-ALT-ENTER' - remember this before logging in !

Connecting to 'foe-sterm' will direct you to one of the Windows 2008 servers. Due to the load balancing in place here, you may be prompted to log in twice.

Once logged into the remote server, your Linux filesystem should be available as the 'Z:' drive, or by running -Explorer -> Map Network Drive -> '\\see-fs-01\username'
