PIN printing

You can print confidential documents on the MFDs using PIN printing - this causes print jobs to be stored in memory on the MFD until you visit the device and enter your PIN number. This involves rather a lot of button presses on the MFD, and we recommend that you use User Box printing if you use this functionality often. Note: if you don't print your job from the MFD device it will be deleted automatically after 24 hours.

  1. Open your application and select Print as normal.
  2. From the Print diaogue box, select the MFD device (if necessary), then click on Properties
  3. In the Properties dialogue box, select the Basic tab, then Output Method -> Secure Print (see below).
  1. In the User Settings Dialogue Box, enter a Secure Print ID and a Password (it's easier to use numbers for both fields, as you can then use the number pad on the MFD rather than the touch-screen keypad). You can save these settings as your default print settings for future prints.
  2. Then press OK, OK, OK
  3. Then on the MFD device, login with the normal School PIN number
  4. Then press User Box (a physical button on the MFD console)
  5. Then select the System User Box tab on the MFD console
  6. Then press the Secure Document User Box icon
  7. Then press the Use/File button
  8. Now you have to type in the User ID and Password you selected when you sent the job (if you used numbers only, you can use the MFD keypad - otherwise use the touch-screen keypad).
  9. Select the Document Icon you want to print (optionally, you can click on Document Details to get information such as the time it was sent and the filename).
  10. Press the on-screen Print button
  11. At this point you can optionally select some options such as double-sided printing.
  12. Now press the (physical) Start button
  13. That's all there is to it.
