Local Linux Applications

Most local applications are installed on a server and are available to Linux clients via an exported filesystem. This can be accessed through the normal /usr/local filesystem. An alternative method of accessing local applications is through the app

  • app setup matlab

- sets up everything required to run the matlab application. The app command has 3 possible parameters -

app list
List all known applications

app describe appname [appname ..]
describe an application

app setup appname [appname ...]
setup an application

App commands can be added to .cshrc files to take effect at login time. To use the app command, the following line is required in your .cshrc
