Faculty of Environment

Web team

The Faculty of Environment Web team produces high quality, professional, maintainable websites to meet faculty, school and research group needs, employing best practices of web design.  Web sites are designed with impact, by the effective use of multimedia content where appropriate.

The Web Team maintains, updates and develops existing school and faculty websites.

Also on offer is a complete web service from initial design discussions through to implementation and maintenance.  The team ensures the University of Leeds Web Guidelines are used as a basis for webpage templates on new designs.  Support and advice on web design is also provided to meet faculty and school objectives and marketing strategies.

We will work to set up websites using Content Management Systems (CMS), which distribute the responsibility for managing website content.  A website implemented in a CMS will allow specific individuals to directly maintain web page content (e.g. images and text), without needing training in web-technology to achieve this.  CMS are recognised as an effective method to increase involvement through perception of staff 'ownership' of web pages.
